Theatre in the Park

‘Theatre in the Park for Pittwater’ is the newest addition to ARTFEST. Staged under the stars in Dunbar Park, Theatre in the Park for Pittwater will give life to the play; THE POPULAR MECHANICALS by Robinson, Scott & Shakespeare. Newcastle Theatre Troupe; Calling All Players, directed by ex-resident James Witchard, will move beyond the typical ‘Shakespeare in the park’ performance. The Popular Mechanicals is a great spin off from the sub-plot of Midsummer Nights Dream. The play follows the story of 6 lowly workers who are staging a play for the Duke’s Wedding. They are trying really hard, when their leading man turns into a donkey! Will they replace him before the performance? Or will they lose an opportunity to perform in front of the whole city!

This fantastic play is full of comedy, music and lots of fun. PLUS! Its Guest Starring Pittwater’s very own Mayor; Harvey Rose. Its perfect for the whole family and the event encourages everyone to bring a picnic and a picnic rug and get lost in the magic of THE POPULAR MECHANICALS
